We were finishing up our master bedroom redesign and had a very specific, “modern-meets-medina” vision for our bedside tables. I fell in love with the Moroccan Gold Nightstand Lamp on the World’s Handicraft website, but our nightstands are unusually narrow, and the standard base was just a few inches too wide. I also really wanted a slightly more “rose-gold” tint to the brass to match the embroidery in our custom headboard.
I’ll be honest—I was hesitant to ask for a custom build. Usually, when you request changes to an artisan piece, you either get a flat “no” or a “see you in six months” response. But the team at World’s Handicraft was incredible. I sent over my exact measurements and a photo of my fabric for the tone, and they didn’t blink. They confirmed they could customize the diameter of the base and adjust the brass patina specifically for me.
The most shocking part was the turnaround. Even with the custom metalwork, the lamps were finished and shipped exactly when they promised. No delays, no “artisan excuses.” When they arrived in Miami, the packaging was so secure it took me ten minutes just to get through the layers of protection.
The result is absolute perfection. The gold finish has that exact warm, blushing glow I asked for, and the narrower base fits our nightstands like they were built for each other. But the real magic is the hand-pierced pattern. Because the lamp is right at eye level when we’re in bed, you can see every tiny, deliberate cut in the brass. At night, it projects this soft, lace-like golden tapestry across our pillows and walls. It doesn’t just light the room; it makes the whole space feel like a high-end, private sanctuary.
