We spent weeks staring at the bare electrical wire hanging in our newly remodeled sunroom. Every standard fixture we looked at in the big home goods stores felt so lifeless and mass-produced. We wanted something that actually had character and a story, and the moment we pulled this Moroccan Hanging Ceiling Light Fixture from World’s Handicraft out of its box, we knew the endless searching was absolutely worth it.
The sheer quality of the metalwork is the first thing that hits you. You can run your fingers over the intricate, hand-sawn geometric patterns and physically feel the history in the craftsmanship. It doesn’t look like it was stamped out by a factory machine; it carries the genuine, soulful touch of a real artisan. During the daytime, it hangs there like a gorgeous piece of sculptural art, catching the natural sunlight and drawing everyone’s eyes upward the second they walk into the room.
But the absolute best part is what happens when the sun finally sets. We put it on a dimmer switch, and the moment we turn it on, the fixture projects these incredible, sprawling, lace-like shadows across the entire ceiling and down the walls. It takes a normal room and instantly wraps it in this warm, mesmerizing, and incredibly cozy atmosphere. It is no exaggeration to say it feels like having a stunning, illuminated tapestry woven right into the architecture of the house.
I was initially a bit nervous about having a delicate handmade fixture shipped all the way to Colorado, but the packaging was incredibly secure, and it arrived completely flawless with zero damage. Our electrician had it wired and safely mounted in less than twenty minutes. This piece completely redefined the energy of our home!
